We refer students and staff to other professionals who in our estimation can best serve their interests.
The main aim of the Directorate is to provide counseling services to encourage and build students' academic, career, social, emotional and personal development.
To achieve, a guidance programme and counseling services are offered to help students get to know themselves better and find effective solutions to their daily problems.
The Directorate also aims at enhancing the emotional, mental and psychological security of both students and staff by educating, encouraging and motivating clients to have a positive outlook towards life despite any issues they have.

Staff and students are helped to resolve psychological and emotional problems including the following:
Depression Anxiety
Addiction. Phobias
Loneliness Anger
Stress Social withdrawal
Maladaptive thoughts and beliefs
We provide information on:
Financial support for students
Academic programmes within and outside the University
Sources of job and how to apply for jobs
Building healthy intimate relationships
Marriage and Family counseling service
We counsel would-be couples on marriage and family life issues.
We also provide counselling for couples who are experiencing problems in their marriages.
The Directorate organizes workshops, seminars and conferences on various guidance and counseling topics for students, staff and counsellors to enhance their educational, career and personal well-being.
This service enables students to acquire the necessary learning skills that will enhance their academic performance.
